Know your Albany County Nursing Home/Elder Care committee members

On August, 2007, a Special Facilities Committee for the Albany County Nursing Home was established by Resolution No. 351 of the Albany County Legislature "to exercise legislative oversight for all issues relative to the planning and construction of a new Albany County Nursing Home. Subsequently in July, 2008, Resolution No. 267 was adopted by the County Legislature appointing the committee membership consisting of seven (7) members of the Majority Conference and two (2) members of the Minority Conference.

In July, 2012, Resolution No. 267 was changed by the County Legislature by Resolution No. 262 to "broaden the scope" of the committee's jurisdiction to include all elder care issues. To reflect this broaden role, the name of the committee was changed to the Special Committee on Elder Care to include the entire score of elder services provided by the county to its elderly populations. Both resolutions may be viewed below.
